Mercure Ballarat changes its name to Ballarat Lodge
Ballarat’s renowned hotel and conference centre, Mercure Ballarat has officially changed its name to Ballarat Lodge and Convention Centre.
Now owned and backed by the experienced team at Austpac Hotels and Resorts, who specialise in managing boutique hotels in regional locations, their mission is to provide guests with a true representation of the region they are visiting.
Austpac’s hotels are not standardised or branded, and by providing a strong connection with the hotel’s local community, they ensure an authentic and locally relevant experience for their guests at every turn.
Ballarat Lodge’s General Manager, Jeff Branch is excited by the hotel’s new management team and stressed that the change from Mercure Ballarat did not signify a change in the operating standards of the hotel.
“We want to take Ballarat Lodge (Formerly Mercure Ballarat) back to being one of the region’s most significant hotels and while we have a new logo and badge above the door, nothing else has changed.
“We will continue to provide our guests with the same level of service and facilities they enjoyed when the hotel was Mercure Ballarat, but with a greater focus on our region’s many treasures,” says Branch.
Ballarat Lodge is located opposite the town’s major tourist attraction, Sovereign Hill, just 90 minutes from Melbourne.
Featuring 71 accommodation rooms, this well appointed 4 star hotel also features the dining delights of Victoria and Conservatory Restaurants, the Heritage Lounge Bar as well as extensive function rooms and meeting facilities.
There are also excellent leisure facilities on site including a Day Spa offering a full range of body and beauty treatments, mountain bikes and picturesque jogging tracks.
